Charlie Zhong is a composer, singer-songwriter, conductor, and lyricist based in New Haven.
He has been named a winner of the ASCAP Morton Gould Award, a 1st place of the American Prize in Composition, a 1st place of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra Emerging Composers Competition, and the inaugural winner of the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra Young Composers Competition.
Charlie's music has been performed nationally by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, DeKalb Symphony Orchestra, International Contemporary Ensemble, and the Tak Ensemble.
Charlie is currently a student at Yale University studying Music and Global Affairs. He is a performing member and student conductor of the Yale Glee Club, which he has toured with both domestically (New York City, Philidelphia, San Juan, Washington D.C.) and internationally (Bulgaria and Romania).
He was a former student at The Walden School.
