Humors

The title of this piece - humors - refers to the four humors of ancient Greek medicine (blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm). This piece explores the four humors through a sonic world, creating textures and sounds each depicting the four humors. Each humor and their properties are assigned to four musical parameters, and these parameters render a soundscape where each parameter is interlaced together with others to form subtle textures, ranging in different spans of timbre, pitch, and tonality. Just as how the humors were believed to fuse together to create different forms of individual character, or disease.
